1991 - The Year Punk Broke - A 1992 documentary by Dave Markey of life on the road with Sonic Youth and then little known band, Nirvana, during their tour of Europe. See the whole film here.

As much as I have a love/hate relationship with nostalgia I gotta recommend watching this. It was a crazy time when this came out because Nirvana had already hit huge by the time of its release. Previous to that Sonic Youth were considered major rock stars (I mean, their records sold, like, 100,000 copies!) by everyone I knew. It took many years for the winds to shift but when they did it happened like WHAM-O!
