my favorite U2 song ever. for a variety of reasons people who are 5 years younger than me or more all fucking hate U2 and can’t understand why anyone would ever like them. and i get that. when i was a kid i went through a phase where i said Bruce Springsteen sucked….but then again i also was in a hardcore band at one time…so obviously i had my flaws…but honestly U2 and REM (another hated on band) are the reason i got into punk and post-punk in the first place. if you can’t understand that this song rules then you are probably just too cool to exist. at the same time i really wish they would’ve broken up 10 years ago.

My second favorite U2 song of all time. ”11 O’Clock Tick Tock” is my number one favorite but it was this song that I quoted in my senior high school yearbook.

For a very brief time circa 1988-1989 there was a punk/skinhead squat on this block that did shows under the name “Sped’s Old Exit Club”. Hands down some of my scariest/most thrilling punk rock experiences happened on Dekalb Avenue.
